Always a popular choice is the trip to Cape Reinga with Paradise Connexion.

They offer a Luxury Tour with 4x4 and personalised service with your own tour guide or a bustrip. The package includes a visit to the famous Ancient Kauri Kingdom, a drive on the Beach to the Cape, passing through the Te Paki quicksand stream with Sand tobogganing, Lunch at Tapotupotu Bay, a visit to the Lighthouse in Cape Reinga, a stop at the Gumdigger Park, and drive back to our place. You will have lots of fun with the kind and knowledgeable Guide.

A good day for many is also the fishing trip with Pisces Charters. Paul is a character and knows everything about fishing and the area, and has lots of jokes to tell as well. He has an 8 metre alloy boat, plenty of room to catch your fishes. You can choose between a 4 and 6 hour trip. All fishing tackle, rods and bait are provided. Fishing rips depart from Mill Bay Mangonui. Also, sightseeing and exclusive trips can be arranged.

Then there are the various Golf places. Firstly, the Kauri Cliffs in Matauri Bay where a round of Golf would set you back about $400 per person. Within a reach of 15minutes is the Whangaroa Golf course, and on the Karikari Peninsula you will find the Carrington Club. Lastly the Golf Course at Ahipara Kaitaia (1 hour away). If playing golf is not your thing, try horse riding along 90 mile beach.

Then we suggest a nice trip inland to have a look a local Pottery, where and Rod and Marguerite using local materials making a range of wood and salt-fired domestic, garden and design pots stoneware and terracotta, masks and torsos. On your way back, there would be the Kiwi House with Glow-worm Grotto in a nocturnal Park.
